Upcycling is a trend that’s been popular over the last few years as our population has grown more and more concerned about protecting the beautiful world around is. The great thing about upcycling is that in addition to being a little greener, you can actually save a lot of money that you can use to buy ethereum tokens or maybe for investing online. Below are 15 regular household items that you never knew you could re-purpose and re-use.
1. Blue Jeans
If you wear jeans a lot, you know that they can easily get holes in them. Instead of throwing them away when they get worn, do a few sewing projects. You can make a purse or a shopping bag with old jeans. You can also cut them up and use them as patches.
2. Spaghetti Jars
If you buy spaghetti sauce in the jar, you can reuse them as glass vases or a variety of other items. Spray paint the top of them and slap a label on them. Use them to help organize the garage by separating your nails and screws into different jars.
3. Toilet Paper Rolls
Yes, even toilet paper rolls can be upcycled. Use them to wrangle your cords. Simply wrap some of your smaller cords around your hand to keep it neat, slip it off, and place them in a toilet paper roll.
4. Egg Cartons
Egg cartons can be used to keep crafts organized or for a great painting day. Squeeze some watercolor paint into each section and have a fun craft day with your kids without having to buy an artist’s palette.
5. Muffin Tins
If you have an old muffin tin (or one too many) spray paint it a bright fun color, and put your earrings and necklaces in it.
6. Tin Cans
Add a little bit of scrapbook paper and ribbons around an old tin can and use it to put your pens in on your desk.
7. Old Funiture
If you have an old piece of wood furniture, please don’t kick it to the curb. Wood furniture can easily be updated for only a few bucks. Re-stain it or paint it and change out the knobs for a completely new and exciting look.
8. Wood Palletes
Wood pallets are all over the internet on DIY blogs. Savvy folks are using these to make coffee tables, headboards, and even wall dividers!
9. Old Windows
Old windows can be used to create unbelievable art and give a shabby chic feel to your home.
10. Old T-Shirts
Don’t purchase cleaning rags at the store. You can easily cut up an old t-shirt and use it to clean. You can also make a quilt from those old high school t-shirts or even make a fun scarf or a bracelet.
11. Doors
You can re-use a big hunkin’ door that you might have in your basement or left over from when you replaced your front door. You can cut it and make it into a desk. You can also make a nice big kitchen table from it or a headboard. The possibilities are truly endless!
12. Sea Glass
I pick up sea glass whenever I go to the beach. You can use it to make jewelry or to put in votives for a pretty look.
13. Old Magazines
There are a ton of things you can do with old magazines. The most popular is to roll the paper into tiny paper beads and use them to make a necklace or a bracelet.
14. Old Silverware
If you have a couple extra spoons or forks lying around, you can actually bend them and place them on the wall for a unique way to have a hook for your keys when you walk in the door.
15. Old CD cases
Do you know those clear cases that you can buy with about 30 blank cds in them? Well, there’s a picture going around the internet showing that those are the perfect size to put a bagel in to bring to work!
